Vacation Recovery

Vacation… How it comes and goes in a blink of an eye. Last week we took a trip to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan. For the last couple years we’ve been taking beach vacations in Florida–something I will never get sick of. But, my adventurous husband was ready for a different kind of trip. So we picked northern Michigan for a change.

It ended up being more of an action-packed trip than I thought. We went river rafting on the Pine River, cherry picking at a local farm, we played on the beach in Traverse City, stayed two nights at the awesome Great Wolf Lodge, camped four nights near Lake Leelanau, took a ferry and spent the day hiking on South Manitou Island, did the Dune Climb at Sleeping Bear Dunes, went fishing, walked around Glen Arbor, Leland, Empire and… whew, did I say we went on vacation? I’m worn out!

I need another vacation. A lounge-chair-on-the-beach-with-a-good-book-
and-stiff-drink vacation.

But, seriously, it was a nice trip and the kids had a blast. Now, we’re home in Cincinnati and back to the daily grind. Vacation, thanks for the memories. But, it’s good to be back.
