Psssst: I Look Forward to Mondays

I’m just going to say it. I like Mondays. I actually look forward to them. Why?

Well, all weekend long, it’s nonstop kid care, running around town doing kid stuff or doing errands, and the house becomes a ginormous, hopeless mess. By Sunday night, I am sooo done.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids, and I do enjoy spending time with them. It’s just all those hours upon hours of hide-n-seek, wiping butts, whining, unsuccessful naps, watching Dora episodes you’ve already seen 5,000 times, etc. that get kind of painful.

When Monday comes, it’s like a bright ray of sunshine for me. The kids happily go off to school and sitter, the hubs goes to work (not quite as happily), and I get the house to myself. Sure, it’s a total disaster zone and I have to clean it up. That part’s sucky. But then, it’s nice and quiet, I can keep the house looking decent for a while, and I can get work done. Heaven.

I think as long as you like your job, your boss and your general work situation (whether at an office or at home), Mondays can actually be a nice relief for many working moms. I can’t be the only one who’s ready for the weekend to be over come bedtime on Sunday night …
