We all have something we look forward to at Thanksgiving dinner. I was so excited about cranberries that I couldn’t wait until Thursday. I’ve already made and eaten two batches of this Cranberry Walnut Jello Salad recipe with fresh cranberries in cherry Jello with walnuts. I think it’s safe to say I’m addicted to the sweetness of the jello with the tart berries and the crunch of the walnuts.
As always, my version modifies a recipe I found online. Try this with your turkey, and let me know which Thanksgiving treat you’re addicted to!
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 pkg. cherry Jello
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Boil cranberries in the water until they crack.
- Add sugar and cook 5 minutes.
- Add Jello.
- Cool to room temperature and add nuts.
- Refrigerate for several hours before serving and/or just eating the whole batch by yourself.
