I usually don’t like the whole “New Year’s” thing. The party till after midnight (who can stay awake that long?), the cleanup of holiday decorations the next day (or week, or month, depending on your level of procrastination), the resolutions that are quickly broken and/or forgotten.
I always end up thinking about how last year wasn’t what I’d hoped it would be, and doubtfully wondering if the new year will be any different. Sigh. Sounds like I’m a real downer, huh?
But there’s something about 2008. I’m genuinely excited about the new year. I have a party to attend tonight–the first time Jay and I are going out on NYE together. We’ve got big plans this year for some positive changes in our lives (more to come on that). Some new opportunities have opened up for me at work, which will hopefully re-energize my creative side. Cassie is learning and discovering like crazy, and I can’t wait to see what each new day brings for her.
Maybe I’ve just been harnessing the ol’ power of positive thinking, but all signs point to a truly Happy New Year. I hope it’s a good one for you and yours. Cheers!
Happy New Year! You can throw out Debbie Downer and bring in Polly Positive : )
We are actually going out tonight too.. unsure of how long.. midnight..
YAWN….
May this be a good start to your new year!
Have fun tonight! ’07 kinda blew, for me. I’m hoping ’08 will be much better.
Same here. I’m ready to start new. The end of 07 really wore me out. I hopefully about 2008… it’s going to be a great year!
Happy New Year!!
