Apps for Working Moms

Does technology help or hurt you? It all depends on how you manage it. Try these apps for working moms to make your life (and work) easier and more fun.

Does technology help or hurt you as a working mom? I choose to think of tech (including some key iPhone apps) as a sanity-saver and friend, rather than an enemy that steals me away from my children.

I shared my advice for working moms who want to take charge of their tech over on LinkedIn, including some of my very favorite apps for working moms.

They include:

  • 7-Minute Workout to squeeze a little bit of fitness into your busy day
  • Calm to chill the &*$% out (which we all need from time to time)
  • HealthTap to get quick answers on health-related issues (I wrote about HealthTap in depth last year–and it’s about to get even more awesome very soon, from what I hear)

Read my post on LinkedIn for links to these and more great apps, as well as tips to wrangle your smart phone into submission and do your bidding.

Recently, I also discovered the awesomeness of the Flipboard app (yes, I realize I’m about 4 years late to the party. What can I say? I’m late to everything. Ask my Hubs.)

If you’re not familiar, Flipboard is like your personal magazine — a single place to discover, collect and share the news you care about. You can add your favorite social networks, publications and blogs to stay connected to the topics and people closest to you. The experience has been designed for viewing content on your phone or tablet, so you can just flip, flip, flip and read or see whatever catches your eye. And sharing with others is super-easy, too.

After playing around with Flipboard for a bit, I decided to create my own Working Moms “magazine” on Flipboard. My magazine includes all of my favorite working-mom blogs, along with articles, photos, videos and music I find interesting (and think other working moms would, too). If you’re a Flipboard aficionado and want to see more working mom-related content, I hope you’ll subscribe.

You can also follow Working Moms Against Guilt on Pinterest, where we pin lots of good stuff on our board Apps for Working Moms.

Do you have any tech tips or apps to recommend as sanity savers for working moms? Please share in the comments.
