I love the look of homemade crafts. Valentines, invitations, cards, teacher gifts… I like to look as though I put a lot of effort into it. But I don’t like to do them. I don’t like the mess and I often become frustrated halfway through when it isn’t turning out the way I envisioned.
Luckily, I have friends who are craftier and more creative than I am, so I “borrowed” a cute idea. What could be easier than this easy kids Valentine idea?
Step 1) Take a picture of your kid with their hand outstretched as though they are holding something.
Step 2) Use a picture editor, like PicMonkey, to add any text or overlays you like.
Step 3) Print your photos. Search for coupons. I was able to print mine for 10 cents a piece at my local pharmacy.
Step 4) Use a pair of scissors, opened, and cut two horizontal slits on the portion of the photo where your child has their hand outstretched.
Step 5) Insert a lollipop. Turn the photo over and secure the stick with a small piece of tape.
Step 6) Admire your handiwork and move on! Do one of the 100 other things you need to get done at the house or just relax.
Thanks to my sweet friend and neighbor, Shannon at Milk and Cuddles, who gave out these adorable Valentines a few years ago. And thanks for the permission to reuse your idea!
