Cara’s Finds

Happy Leap Year! And to Happy Birthday to the Leap Year babies who only get to celebrate on their actual birthday every four years. How crazy would that be?

Have you LOL lately? This was a find of Susan’s awhile back. But I thought it was worth mentioning again. Suave and Sprint’s In the Motherhood webisodes are hi-la-rious! They star Leah Remini, Jenny McCarthy, and my new favorite, Chelsea Handler. Not only are these webisodes funny, they’re real mom stories. Submit your funny or embarrassing story about motherhood and it might be made into one of the webisodes. And if you’re looking for more laughs, check out Chelsea’s talk show, Chelsea Lately on E!. She’s not a really a mom, but she plays one on the internets.

Recycle and redesign. I love when something crafty comes from reused or recycled materials. So I’m digging this cool blog: Crafting a Green World. The blog covers DIY projects made from recycled or natural materials. Plus features creations by green crafters and artists, like these cute bottle cap necklaces created by two SAHMs who discovered a way to live creatively and inexpensively by not throwing anything away before giving it a second look.

Gary Busey. He’s just so, Gary. Busey. Not only did he pratically molest Jennifer Garner on the Oscar red carpet, he was rude to an 11-year-old girl trying to interview him. You’ve probably seen, but just in case you haven’t.

In more, YouTube action that you’ve probably seen but in case you haven’t, check out these Jimmy Kimmel videos. This one first, and then this one. Might not be SFW, depending on where you work. At least put on your headphones. Ben Affleck is scheduled to be on Jimmy tonight.

Are you white? If so, you might like some of the stuff on this list. If you’re not white, you might like to read the list anyway, and make fun of us white people.

Where were you during the Great Starbucks Shutdown of ’08? It’s a night none of us will forget: Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 5:30 to 8:30, when Starbucks everywhere closed for training. See how Stephen Colbert handled the crisis. Funny, funny stuff.

Keep your balance while you travel. I’ve got some business travel coming up, so I was interested in this new site by Embassy Suites. Lots of good tips on eating, sleeping, exercising, and destressing on the road.
