Cara’s Finds
–Doodle 4 Google. As I was googling something this morning, I noticed this cool contest for schools. Google is challenging kids to re-doodle their logo using the theme “What I Wish for the World.” The national winner will win a $15,000 college scholarship and a $25,000 technology grant for their school! Check out the details here.
—How to ask for flextime. Want to cut back on hours or convince your employer to give you more flexibility? Check out this great article written by our good friend, Judi Ketteler, for American Baby magazine. My story of finding work flexibility is featured, along with some awesome advice from Pat Katepoo from WorkOptions.com.
Susan’s Finds
— Free chocolate! If you live in Cincinnati, stop by Whole Foods on Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 5-7 p.m. They’re having a “Chocolate Fest,” which includes free samples of everything from chocolate bars, cakes, drinks and candies, to delicious sauces with fresh fruit. I’m so there.
— It’s almost too easy to parody the Snuggie commercials. Yet, the result is still very funny. Thanks to Hubs for the link.
— Make your own video Valentine. Animoto makes it easy (and free) to create a video love letter featuring your own photos and music, themed just for V-Day. Very original!
OMG! That Snuggie parody is hilarious! I did a post on this subject last week, http://thepoliticsoflife.wordpress.com/2009/01/29/why-do-we-buy-this-stuff/
But it’s nowhere near as funny!
I can’t believe all these people dissing the Snuggie on YouTube. The only things better are my Crocs. 🙂
