Tela’s Finds

The keyboard cat memes flying around YouTube right now are killing me. Here are a few hilarious ones.

If I could give every mom I know the 2009 Mom of the Year Award, I would. Since that can’t happen, I’ll pass the link to this MomsRising video to everyone I know and all my WMAGs to boot.

I’m kind of a texting freak, so I really loved this site I found. Some of it is a little um, low-brow humor, but there are some real gems in there. Shout-out to my co-worker Margaret for passing this on.

Work for a mom-friendly company in Cincinnati? Kara Gebhart Uhl at Cincinnati Parent magazine is searching for some of the tristate’s most family-friendly companies. Do you know (or better yet, work for!) a local company that offers on-site daycare? What about paid maternity or paternity leave? Does your company of flex-time or part-time work options? Is it a nightmare to take off when your child is sick, or can you work from home? For all the nursing mamas, are you forced to pump in a little closet (or worse, bathroom) or do you get a private room complete with fridge for storage? Let Kara know at kara.uhl@gmail.com.

Make a cool video for mom. Leave the generic Mother’s Day card on the shelf this year and impress mom with a personal online greeting from Animoto. Animoto combines all your best memories into a fun, emotional and personalized music video that can be shared online – letting mom show your skills off via email, social networks, YouTube, iPhone or downloaded to DVD. Just upload photos, pick a song, and Animoto takes care of the rest, creating a one-of-a-kind video with the visual energy of a music video and the emotional impact of a movie trailer. Pretty cool!

It’s so funny that you include Animoto because I just heard about it a few weeks ago and hadn’t had a chance to check it out yet. Sounds like it’s worth investigating!
