Cara’s Finds

Wish your home looked like a Pottery Barn catalog? Check out Pottery Barn’s free decorating classes. The hour-long free event will go over the fundamentals of decorating from mixing color and patterns to putting on a dinner party. Enrollment is limited, so check for times and register at your local store.

Coolest toys of the season. Sometimes when relatives ask me for gift ideas for the kids, I never know what to tell them. Sure, my kids yell “I WANT THAT!” every time a commercial comes up, but do they really want Mighty Putty or Aqua Globes? I don’t think so. (Are anyone else’s kids really into infomercials?) So this year, I’m going to get my gift ideas from TimeToPlayMag.com. Christoper Byrne is behind the site, you might know as “The Toy Guy” who has regularly appears on “Live with Regis and Kelly.” Check out their list of the most wanted toys for the holiday season.

Have a great Friday!

Tela’s Mid-Day Finds

–Have a hot date tonight? Or maybe weekend plans with the kids? Check out Goodrec. You can get recos from friends–and others–on everything from bottles of wine to flicks to rent. You can “friend” your friends or just people who like cool stuff to see what they think about the next whozit and whatzit. The next generation of ratings and reviews. There’s even an iPhone app, for those individuals that have such things…

If you are surfing the web at work on a slow Friday (wwaaahh?) and want a quick chuckle, check out http://www.lonelyfortunewriter.com/. This new site from Healthy Choice spits out some pretty funny fortunes, and the fortune writer is adorable.

Don’t read The Bloggess? You should. I’ve pimped her before, but not only is she hilarious, she finds the craziest things. It also reminds me of this–one of my favorite Family Guy clips.

  1. OMG! I thought my kid was the only obsessed with Aqua Globes! That is so funny! My 3YO thinks they are the most amazing thing on the planet. And makes sure to point out anything that resembles them.

  2. Jenny, the Bloggess says:

    1. You are awesome.

    2. The lonely fortune cookie guy told me to go to the mall. True story. I love this guy.
