Cara’s Finds

“I’m bored!” Now that the cold winter months are approaching get ready to hear this a lot. Instead of racking your brain to come up with an activity, check out ProductiveParenting.com. The service provides parents with simple, age appropriate activities updated daily to alleviate the need of sorting through long lists found on other sites. ProductiveParenting.com spends their time creating great activities so parents can spend more time playing with their children rather than wasting time figuring out what to do. It is a membership-based site, costing 24.99/year. However, enter the code: WORKINGMOM and receive 50% off.

–Want your MTV? You got it. MTV just launched MTVMusic.com. What a concept… MTV paired with music! Find practically any music video past or present that strikes your fancy, including some great Unplugged performances.

Tela’s Finds

–If you’ve put off your fall clothes shopping way too long like me (it was just like 80 degrees two weeks ago, wasn’t it?), check out Old Navy from today until next Friday. A ton of $10-dollar deals. Not much in the way of women’s stuff left, but lots of fall clothing for kids!

Are you addicted to My Super Hopeless Romance like I am? As I suspected, the blog was “fake” (or fiction, depending on how you look at it), but a good read nonetheless. Sue, from Navel Gazing, was the writer behind it. You can read about about it here. The good news that comes from all this? She’s going to continue the story as she originally planned.

Need a little extra savvy? Friend of WMAG Shannan (AKA MommyBits) is a city editor for the new Being Savvy Cincinnati, one of 60 parenting blogs across the country in the Savvy Source family. Shannan and her co-editor Amy help parents make the most of all that Cincinnati (and Northern Kentucky!) has to offer. That includes everyday and offbeat activities and events you can do with your kids, great affordable outing spots, kid friendly places to entertain your children, holiday themed ideas and activities, preschool ratings, expert insights and more. Check it out–and comment!

One more chance to wear your costume! Don’t forget, Joey’s Monster Ball–the fundraiser for my coworker Rachael’s son who has Tay-Sachs Disease–is Sunday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Kids are welcome, though it is not a kid-centered event. If you’d like to help but can’t make it (like me), please consider a donation.

Thanks for the heads up on the Old Navy $10 deals. I hit them up last year when they did it and got a ton of clothes for the boys that I used for Xmas presents.

Thanks so much for the shout out about Being Savvy Cincinnati. I am pretty excited about the site and hope other parents find it useful.

The ProductiveParenting discount code is invalid. I tried entering it into the form and the code box won’t accept such a long set of characters. Could someone please post the correct code?

  4. The ProductiveParenting discount code is now WORKINGMOM. Sorry for the mistake!
