Cara’s Finds

Motherhood moves to TV. I’m so excited ABC bought 13 episodes of In the Motherhood, the hilarious web series based on real mom stories. The TV version will star Chelsea Handler, Megan Mullally, and Cheryl Hines. I wonder why not Jenny McCarthy and Leah Remini, who were a part of the original cast? Hopefully the TV version won’t disappoint!

Susan’s Finds

The Women premieres this weekend. This remake of the classic 1939 film is a fast-paced, witty and emotional look at all things female, including loyalties, betrayals, careers, families and most of all, friendships. The Women features an all-female cast of distinguished actresses, including Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith, Cloris Leachman, Bette Midler and Candice Bergen. You can watch the trailer and see a mini-documentary about the female crew behind The Women on Dove.com. Then grab a girlfriend and go see this film!

Send personalized cute cards, stat! If you’re like me, you always mean to send cards to friends and family for various occasions. But you never seem to actually do it–no time to shop the card aisles, write out the card, address and stamp it, and get it in the mail. (And yes, e-cards are great–but they’re not quite the same as a real, actual card received via snail mail.) Hallmark to the rescue! You can go on their website, pick out the perfect card, personalize it with your own message, and they’ll print and mail it for you. The cost? Card plus stamp, usually less than $4.

Cincinnati Readers: Celebrate National Women’s Friendship Day (Sept. 21) a little early with some shopping and socializing. Girlfriendology is hosting a Shop in the City event this Sunday (Sept. 14) from noon to 4 p.m. in Oakley. Participating shops include Nest, Casa DeLorenzo & Red Tree Gallery – Madison & Brazee, where you’ll find gift bags, prizes, shopping specials and music.

That’s a cool thing with the cards – I was thinking I should just starting putting cards in my car so that when we leave a place or when I’m thinking about it I can get it done right then.

  2. Wow, that’s great news about the Hallmark cards. I never seem to have stamps and cards in the same location! Thanks for the tip.
