Christmas Day is almost over, and I’m perfectly OK with it. No “post-holiday letdown,” as my mom calls it.
I’ve opened my presents (including the complete Gilmore Girls on DVD, yay!), eaten way too much (cookies and candy and ham, oh my!), and spent plenty of quality family time. Watched Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer waaay too many times. Sang carols, wrapped and unwrapped gifts, decorated trees, addressed cards, drove a million miles through the night to my inlaws … just listing it all exhausts me.
Now I simply want to eat some salad, take a walk outside, read my next book-club book (Pride and Prejudice), and do a little holiday detox. It’s just … too much, you know?
Not that I’m ready to go back to work. Let’s not go that far. I just need some time to breathe before this new year kicks in. Whew!
I couldn’t agree more. It’s funny, because a few days ago I was wishing time would stop so I could enjoy the days before Christmas a little bit more. But today, I’m actually relieved it’s all over.
I thought the holidays were suppose to be about PEACE, LOVE, and did I say PEACE?
Yeah.
Enjoy Pride and Prejudice. It is my all time FAVORITE book.
Pride and prejudice is our new book-club book? what the??? I HATE GROUPS
