Remember that song from Flashdance, “I’m Going on a Manhunt”? Good times, 80s, good times. Anyhow, that was the musical inspiration for my headline.
Here’s the deal: I’ve been doing this whole reading-and-writing-blogs thing for about 2.5 years now, and I have my usual set of blogs I read. Many of them grace this very blog under the header “You Might Also Like” (righthand column).
But lately, I’ve been feeling like I need some fresh new blog reading, and I’m not quite sure where to look. There are a bajillion blog rolls and mom-blog aggregators, but I don’t have time to go through all those.
Instead, I’m turning to you, dear readers. You know what’s up. If you had to choose only ONE blog to read every day, which one would it be? Please drop me a link in the comments. And tell me why you would pick it (if you have time). I trust your judgment more than The Google or any other source.
Thank you! You’re the best! Love ya and love your blogs.

Honest to Goodness if I only had ONE blog to read every day, then I would definitely pick the Pioneer Womans site (http://thepioneerwoman.com). But since I know probably ten or more other poeple are thinking the same, let me choose another that I love from a male blogger: http://daddyscratches.com/ b/c he is dang funny! The male perspective on parenting has never been better/funnier!
Wheels on the Bus. I’m not a mom and I have never met the author, but when I see a new post from Emily in my reader it makes my eyes light up.
I’m going to give a shout-out to a new blogger, Vanessa at Workaholicmama.com. Like you guys, she’s a mother who doesn’t apologize for loving her job.
antiquemommy.com, no doubt.
There are days when I don’t have time to read any blogs and then find myself, like now, online at 11 p.m. I’ll immediately click over to author Beth Kephart’s blog at http://bethkephartbooks.blogspot.com. Beth is an exquisite writer and photographer – she’s taught me to look at the everyday things so much more closely – and I always leave her blog with a lighter heart than when I came.
I’ve been reading this blog for years, and it never ceases to entertain.
Hope you like it.
Pioneer Woman at http://thepioneerwoman.com
My dear friend “Followthatdog” http://www.mommyneedsalatte.com/
writes a great blog.
if you want laughs, and not necessarily mommy or job related, check out cakewrecks.blogspot.com. you’ll be amazed, and not always in a good way…
One the best mom bloggers around and she’s new too is http://www.thecocktailcafe.com
love the writing from her and other moms and the podcasts too.
I’ll be sure to keep reading this blog now that I found it too
Check out “Dispatches from the Burbs” http://momdirt.blogspot.com/ and be sure to read her Monday post, “The Why Me Reaction.” It’ll give you a new perspective on life. Seriously.
Chitlins and Camembert. Amy H. is an American from the South who is in the process of renovating a house in the French countryside with her French husband. They have two preschoolers, and it is always a good read.
If you want to be amazed and inspired, try mattlogelin.com and audreycaroline.blogspot.com. These very different blogs are similar only in that their authors have dealt with personal tragedies by finding a way to help others. Both are very popular, as Matt has been on Oprah and Angie’s blog received a Divine Caroline award.
heather armstrong at dooce.com is hilarious!
Hmm… how about MY blog?
I’m a mom to two little boys and I love to write about all our adventures!
Okay, I have a lot of favourite blogs I read daily, but number 1 would be:
thepioneerwoman.com all the way!
This woman is amazing! Good momma, photographer, loves the beach and her writing of her thoughts just are sooo awesome!
Cupcake Pops and More!!
She was on Martha Stewart!
Funny radio host in Indy…must visit!! She is truly a talented writer and she has bunches of funny stories to write!!
For humor, i like http://www.passiveaggressivenotes.com/ – always good for a chuckle
For inspiration and guidance for working moms http://blog.high-achievingwomen.com/.
So many good ones. badmommymoments.com always has me laughing.
http://www.getrichslowly.com It’s not mommy related, as the guy doesn’t even have kids, but it’s interesting anyway, and the reader comments are often quite interesting. It’s interesting to see this guy’s complete transformation from spendthrift to responsible consumer.
I just found this blog today and will definitely be adding it to my daily read.
I too have a blog about being a working mother of two boys. (www.birchfamily.ca/blog) and would love to have all of you visit it.
The Fence! It's so real and very entertaining!
