Schedule Time for Yourself

Don’t just use your calendar for work appointments, children’s sports, and doctor’s appointments. On Friday afternoons, I try to take 15 minutes to look at the week ahead and schedule things in my life that are important. Try scheduling things such as:

  • Workouts: Research shows if you have them written down at the calendar, you are more likely to workout at that time.
  • Lunch with a friend
  • “Date at home” dinner with your husband
  • Some one-on-one time with your child such as going to the library, a park or playing a board game.
