Tasty Tuesday – Addictive Cranberries

Fresh cranberries mix with sweet jello to create an addictive side.

We all have something we look forward to at Thanksgiving dinner. I was so excited about cranberries that I couldn’t wait until Thursday. I’ve already made and eaten two batches of this recipe for fresh cranberries in cherry jello with walnuts. I think it’s safe to say I’m addicted to the sweetness of the jello with the tart berries and the crunch of the walnuts.

As always, my version modifies a recipe I found online. Try this with your turkey, and let me know which Thanksgiving treat you’re addicted to!

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh cranberries
1 1/4 cup water
1 c. sugar
1 pkg. cherry Jello
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
Boil cranberries in the water until they crack. Add sugar and cook 5 minutes. Add Jello. Cool to room temperature and add nuts. Refrigerate for several hours before serving and/or just eating the whole batch by yourself.

  1. I love turkey sandwiches with mayo, the day after Thanksgiving. Those are my fave! Close second: Pumpkin pie with LOTS of whipped cream.

  2. Oh my gosh, yes. The cold turkey sandwiches on mayo and potato buns. I am soooo hungry right now…

  3. I meant “on potato buns with mayo.” 🙂
