I’m not even going to try to make this edition of Tasty Tuesday sound like a busy-mom meal tip. I’m just going to be honest: tomorrow evening I will do my best to feed my kids a healthy dinner, then I will set them loose for Trick or Treat. I will probably let them eat a ton of their haul before putting the breaks on the sugarfest and attempting to put them to bed. Then, I will pick through their pumpkins and help myself to the Almond Joys and Baby Ruths–items I know they can’t fully appreciate. Because Almond Joys MUST be properly appreciated.
Does this sound familiar? In the spirit of Halloween, let’s talk about what we’ll really be eating tomorrow. What are you hoping to steal from your kids’ Trick or Treat bags? (FYI, I also like Snickers.) What are you handing out to Trick or Treaters? (We’re doing Lemon Heads this year, which is dumb because I usually try to hand out things I don’t like so I won’t be tempted to pilfer.) And what kind of Halloween candy do you not like? (I’m with Moose A. Moose in the video up above – I don’t like candy corn!)
Bonus bogus share points if you tell us what you’re dressing up as for Halloween. Me, I’m going as a Lady Who Hands Out Candy. Get it? I know. I’m lame…
I appreciate your honesty, Sara. I am the world’s worst dinner-preparation mom, so I almost never have a plan. However, it just so happens I am making chili tonight for a chili cookoff at work tomorrow. SO we will have that. But of course, my kids won’t eat chili. More likely, they will eat buttered bread for dinner. I know, terrible.
Then, candy for all! My faves are Kit Kats and Hershey’s Special Dark bars.
Costume? Blergh.
Did you make my Tasty Tuesday chili recipe? Hmmm? 🙂
As it turns out, I ran out of steam and didn’t make the chili for the cookoff. Therefore, Halloween dinner consisted of random stuff and of course, candy 🙂
