Hey, everybody –
I only have a few minutes to post, but that’s all I need to share with you this really fattening but really easy and tasty dessert recipe. I’ll bet you’ve heard of it. It’s called “Dump Cake.” That’s ’cause you just dump all the ingredients into a cake tin and bake. (This is a great dish to make with your kids!)
Dump Cake
1 Box of chocolate or yellow cake mix
1 1/2 sticks of butter, cut into pats
1 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple
1 20 oz. can of cherry pie filling.
Dump the cake mix into the pan. Put the pats of butter on top – try and space them out evenly. Dump the pineapple on top of that (no need to drain it). Dump the cherry pie filling on top of that. Put it in the oven at 350 degrees for an hour or so until it gets brown on top and around the edges. The result: a buttery, crumbly, fruity mess that tastes freaking awesome!!
Sara, you’re making me laugh out loud. It was the last line that got me.
Your neighbor…
Ha! Hi, Andrea! You guys have to come over next time we make this!
Ha Ha! My husband makes me call this “cobbler,” because he thinks “Dump Cake” sounds so bad. I think I put the cake mix on top though. And I’ve used lots of different fillings… peach and cherry “cobbler” is my favorite.
Lovin’ your blog so much we’ve included you in our weekly Virtual Nightstand. Check it out!
