WMAG was asked to try Fruitabu Organic Smooshed Fruit Snacks and give our opinions. Here they are.
Tela’s Take
I’ve wanted to try Fruitabu snacks since I saw the super-cool commercial. So when Fruitabu contacted us to see if we’d like to give the snacks a test drive, I jumped at the chance.
I find these to be the perfect “before-dinner” snack for the O-man. He’s often hungry, and the drive home takes a good 45 minutes. From time to time, I give him a Fruitabu Flat, and he’s content. And it keeps him content for awhile–as he takes his time chomping through it. It wasn’t gone in two seconds, like cut-up grapes, he actually ate it, unlike carrots, and I feel good about giving it to him, unlike cheesy poofs.
Susan’s Take
I have a confession to make: I think I love Fruitabu more than my daughter. She’s tried them, liked them so-so, but usually she leaves most of her “smoooshed fruit” snack behind. And who’s there to “clean up”? Mommy, of course. So helpful. Hey, I grew up in the 80s generation of Fruit Rollups, and Fruitabu takes delicious sweet fruit snacks to the next level! I’m going to keep trying with her, though, because I think they’re a terrific, semi-healthy alternative to candy and other junk.
Cara’s Take
I think my kids have already acquired a taste for other not-so-healthy fruit snacks because they didn’t care for the Fruitabu snacks at all. Thinking they’d be just like the Betty Crocker Ninja Turtle or Scooby Doo kind they were anxious to try them. But once they got a taste, they didn’t want to have anything to do with them at all. I however, like Susan, thought they were pretty good and they brought back memories of those early Fruit Roll-ups. They taste just like them!
Sara’s Take
My Little One loved these snacks. And I felt good about giving them to her. The only caveat? They are STICKY!!! By the time she’d finished, I almost had to hose her down, her face and hands were covered in fruit goo. It’s OK, though, I’m used to it. I’d rather have her covered in fruit goo than chocolate! And she thought these snacks were candy – hence her excitement about eating them.
